Peer Support Supervision Essentials: 5 Modules (19 hours)

Who should attend?

Supervisors of peer supporters in healthcare or social service settings.

Curriculum Highlights:

  • Module One (3.5 hours) Understanding Peer Support
  • Module Two (3.5 hours) Integrating Peer Support Within Organizations
  • Module Three (5 hours) Supporting the Scope of Peer Support Practice
  • Module Four (3.5 hours) Self Awareness
  • Module Five (3.5 hours)  Supervision Skills

Peer Support Core Competencies (PSCC) Training: 15 modules (30 hours)

Our Peer Support Core Competencies training is a fully virtual introductory training is aligned with, and built upon:

  • Peer Support Canada’s: Key learning outcomes from Knowledge Matrix, Code of Conduct, Principles of Practice
  • Mental Health Commission of Canada’s: Core Values of Peer Support, Guidelines for the Practice & Training of Peer Support
  • Health Canada’s Drug Treatment Funding Project (DTFP) and Addictions & Mental Health Ontario (AMHO): Best Practices in Peer Support
  • Centre for Innovation in Peer Support’s: Toolkits, resources and models which support the most current, best practices in Peer Support

This training supports the principles of trauma informed support, with an emphasis on developing overall psychological wellness.

We run the PSCC Training program regularly.  Although we aim to provide this training to as many community members as possible, priority will be given to members of our partner organizations.
